Global Vision was founded on one goal: to support students of all backgrounds in learning English and adapting to their new environment.
Our organization members have firsthand experience with the challenges of learning English as a second language. We know it’s hard being an immigrant in (what some would consider to be) the world’s most stubborn country. We know what it's like to navigate school, social life, and everyday tasks while struggling to communicate. We know what it's like to have two different lives inside and outside of homes. But nevertheless, to accommodate for our unchanging country, we all had to learn English to a high level in short periods of time. This shared struggle drives our passion for helping others overcome the same obstacles. Our contribution to the general education of society will hopefully better integrate more immigrants to American society, and it will simultaneously make America more accepting of different ethnic groups.
What started as a small group of volunteers based out of Plano, Texas has grown into a wide, dedicated network of high school students committed to making a difference. Through online tutoring and conversation-based learning, we help students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities in English. We also publish articles meant for educators, parents, and students that better the understanding of America and its schooling.
At Global Vision, no student should be alone in their American educational journey. Our goal is to create an inclusive, welcoming space where every student - regardless of their background - can find the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.
As we continue to grow, our vision remains the same: to empower students through English education and help them gain the skills they need to thrive in their new environment.
Help teach and join us on this journey. Together, we can create lasting impact.
